New NIH Program for Small Biz E-mail
The NIH has released a new grant program as part of the economic stimulus package that is specifically geared towards small businesses and high-risk high-reward projects.

The "Small Business Catalyst Awards for Accelerating Innovative Research" program has an award per project of $200,000 for a one year project time line.  The program is very similar to the SBIR program, but the catch is that applicants cannot have been awarded an SBIR or STTR previously.  NIH is looking to fund 20-25 projects, so this should be a highly competative solicitation.

Letters of intent are due to NIH by August 3, 2009 with the proposal submission due date September 1, 2009.  For more information about this solicitation, visit the solicitation web site: Small Business Catalyst Awards.
